We're More Than Just a Festival

Windsor-Essex Pride Fest (WEPF) is an incorporated not-for-profit organization in the Province of Ontario. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, WEPF brings together members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Queer, Questioning and Two Spirit (LGBTIQ2S) community, their friends, allies and supporters in celebration of the unique spirit and culture of our community by providing advocacy and producing inclusive and safe events, initiatives and social programs. WEPF strengthens the sense of community and contribute to the vibrancy, health and overall well-being of LGBTIQ2S individuals in Windsor-Essex.

Windsor-Essex Pride Fest’s goal is to empower LGBTIQ2S individuals through it’s social and recreation programs and facilitate opportunities for connection and belonging to reduce social isolation. This is done through age-specific activities, peer-facilitated groups, workshops and special events/initiatives.

This directory serves as a guide to community groups & associations, recreation & leisure pursuits, as well as social services and helping agencies in and around the region of Windsor-Essex.

QConnect Youth Drop In
Join us every Wednesday from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm for QConnect Youth Drop-In. This is a youth-facilitated program for 2SLGBTQIA+ young adults ages 12-18. It’s a chance to meet other 2SLGBTQIA+ young adults, hang out, and enjoy an activity. Events will rotate weekly with Games Night, Movie Night, Craft Night, Coffee House and Open Mic Night. Events and light snacks and refreshments are complimentary for everyone. Please register in advance so that we can make sure we have enough food/beverage and supplies. Events will be held at the Qlink / Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Office located at the Market Square Entrance, 2109 Ottawa Street, 2nd Floor, Unit #216. Join us every Thursday for YAM (Youth Adult Mixer). YAM is a youth-facilitated program for 2SLGBTQIA+ young adults ages 18-29. It’s a chance to meet other 2SLGBTQIA+ young adults, hang out, and enjoy an activity. Events will rotate weekly with Games Night, Movie Night, Craft Night, Coffee House and Open Mic Night. Social Saturdays
Come and join us online for Social Saturdays from 12:00pm - 2:00pm for weekly activities. This is your chance to meet other 2SLGBTQIA+ young adults, hang out, and enjoy an online activity. Activities will rotate weekly with Wellness Activity, Book & Media Club, Expressive Arts Activity and Creative Writing. 2-Spirit Circle
2-Spirit Circle Closed Group is a group that provides programming for 2-Spirit First Nations, Inuit and Métis community members in Windsor Essex, facilitated by Shane Lyon (2S Mi'kmaw/Irish) and presented by the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest. 2-Spirit Circle will be held biweekly on Monday’s from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest office located at the Market Square Entrance, 2109 Ottawa Street, 2nd Floor, Unit #216. The 2-Spirit Circle ensures that everyone attending this group will have a non-judgmental, supportive space to get together and explore your identities and what that means to you. We will do this through Sharing Circles, Traditional Teachings, music, crafts, game nights and other activities to build connections within our community of Windsor-Essex.

Pride Fit
Pride Fit is a group fitness class for ALL AGES that takes place weekly on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm sharp and focuses on building mobility and dynamic strength. The goals of these classes would be to increase range of motion, increase joint strength, help improve activities of daily living, increase muscular strength, improve quality of living and increase the frequency of exercise using body weight movements and stretches. This complimentary program is for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community but space is limited to 15 participants in order to ensure quality and personal time for each participant.
