Thousands show support for LGBTQ+ at Pride Fest Parade

It was all about love Sunday morning on Ottawa Street when up to 3,000 people came out to march in the 32nd Pride Fest Parade.
By 10:30 a.m., supporters of the LGBTQ+ community were already lining the street ready to show their support. By the time the parade started, the crowd had grown in size and enthusiastically cheered on those participating.
The parade started at Ottawa Street and Argyle Road and made its way west to Lanspeary Park.
One of those in the march who wanted to show his support was Unifor Local 200 President John D’Agnolo, just one of the many labour leaders who feels that support is more essential than ever.
“All you have to do is go outside and not think about looking over your shoulder,” he said. “They have a ton of support. It’s not just from Unifor — saying ‘Hey, accept everybody.'”
“You think about the parade, and you think about the flag, and you think about the things that they had to do to have this parade. The sacrifices — some lost their lives,” he continued.
The parade wrapped up celebrations that started on August 2.
