Windsor-Essex Pride Fest is launching its first Qmunity needs assessment in over a decade.

Funded through a $128,300 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the assessment will identify the needs of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and the agencies that can fulfill those.

David Lenz with Windsor-Essex Pride Fest indicated it has been over 14 years since a similar assessment was done in the community.

“There’s some common issues that you always find, but we want to dig down deeper, and find out those really deep-down issues,” said Lenz.

The survey is available through the Windsor-Essex Pride Fest website.

“We’re projecting a month for the survey, but if we need to extend it, we’re trying to get as many people as possible, and really target those people who typically don’t participate in surveys,” said Lenz.

All information will be kept confidential.  Only the themes identified through the survey will be shared with the community.
